  • Federica Cecalupo (she/her)

    FOUNDER & EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

    Federica believes in a society in which FLINTA* individuals have full power and control of their lives to become anything they want.

    In 2019, she listened to her inner voice urging her to use her skills, experience and heart and stand for equality and social justice. She began her new journey by founding the Berlin Team of Days for Girls and starting to focus her efforts on increasing Menstrual Awareness. This led her to spend 4 months in Nepal where she worked on the completion of the first DfG Campaign and offered her professionalism to a local organization, Apeiron.

    Once back in Berlin, it was time to start working on the creation of Hildashaus e.V. and strongly committing to gender equality and social justice.

  • Batoul Resslan (she/her)

    PROJECT COORDINATOR & COMMUNITY FACILITATOR

    Meet Batoul, a talented and passionate architect from Syria with a deep commitment to community connection and creative expression. With a degree in architecture and experience organizing and decorating social events in both Syria and Germany, she brings a unique blend of design expertise and event coordination skills.

    Batoul has a flair for creating beautiful digital and printed invitation cards, combining her design talents with a keen eye for detail. Always eager to learn and grow, she is dedicated to supporting inclusive initiatives and creating welcoming spaces at Khalat.

    Her enthusiasm and creative spirit make her an invaluable part of the team, always focused on fostering connections and inspiring collaboration.

  • Hoda Alnaser (she/her)

    TEXTILE ARTS FACILITATOR

    Hoda Alnaser is an Arabic teacher and educator from Syria with extensive experience in early childhood education and child development. Throughout her career, she has been dedicated to supporting children's learning and growth while fostering strong and trusting relationships with families and educational communities.

    Since moving to Germany in 2018, Hoda has continued to expand her skills through language learning, and professional development opportunities. She is committed to lifelong learning and personal growth.

    Alongside her educational background, Hoda has a strong passion for creativity and handicrafts, including drawing, embroidery, crochet, and various artistic activities. She values patience, attention to detail, and creative expression, which she brings into both her professional and personal life.

    Hoda is known for her empathy, reliability, and collaborative spirit. She enjoys working in supportive and diverse teams and is dedicated to making a positive contribution to the communities she serves.

  • Lilas Jarjour (she/her)

    TEXTILE ARTS EDUCATOR (WITH GERMAN FOR CREATIVE PRACTICE)

    Lailas Jarjour is a fashion designer whose work moves between fashion, film, and visual storytelling. She studied Fashion Design at Trier University of Applied Sciences from 2018 to 2022, where she explored concepts of form, material, and narrative through design.

    During this time, she took part in various university projects and events, gaining hands-on experience and developing her creative voice.

    The designs from her bachelor’s thesis were presented in the fashion show celebrating the 100th anniversary of Trier University of Applied Sciences, an experience that marked a meaningful moment in her artistic development.

    She has been working as a costume designer for film productions since 2022, using clothing as a tool for character and storytelling.

    Alongside this, she currently work as a Designer specializing in Denim and Accessories at Jake*s, within the Peek & Cloppenburg fashion group.

  • Lucy Ng'ang'a (she/her)

    PROJECT COORDINATOR & COMMUNITY FACILITATOR

    Lucy Ng'ang'a is an activist, a community grassroots organizer and a social justice feminist with a refugee experience in Germany. Her unyielding passion as a voice for systemic change towards social justice, fairness and equity for marginalised groups stems out from her own experiences growing up. She believes before change occurs the conversation about systemic oppression that creates inequalities must happen at all levels consistently.

    She is a trained Registered Nurse, with many years of experience working both at hospital and community level health projects. She is a compassionate nurse and activist with specialized interest on Women’s Health and dedicated to providing comprehensive and empowering care through all stages of life.

    She has over 10 years of experience working with refugee women and girls in hardship environment marked with resource scarcity and protracted displacement back in Kenya.

    While in Germany since 2019 until mid 2025, she organised with International Women* Space e.V, as a member and the Project Coordinator of Break Isolation Group (BIG), a self organized group by refugee women* for refugee women. she is currently with Pamoja Rhythms, a project that focus on body movement for WLINTA* - refugees, queers and activists as a tool for healing, community and resilience. She actively engages with other similar minded groups/collectives that work with refugees living in the lagers (GemeinschaftUnterkünfte) in Berlin and Brandenburg(e.g Space2grow, United Action Women & girls, VIA-Regionalverband Berlin/Brandenburg e.V. among others).

    As a speaker in public events, panel discussions and workshop facilitation in Germany and beyond, she shares her refugee woman lived experience as an approach to mobilize for self organising.

    Her organizing skills focus and invest on building power through relationships, community building, empowering refugee women* to amplify their voices, bring their challenges and struggles into visibility by being resilient advocates for their own needs.

  • Pratyusha Sibal (she/her)

    PROJECT COORDINATOR

    Pratyusha Sibal is a Berlin-based social entrepreneur and international development professional passionate about women’s empowerment and social impact. With experience in program development, fundraising, and working with diverse communities across different cultural contexts, she is dedicated to creating opportunities that foster inclusion and growth.

    Pratyusha is the founder of Baking Hope, a nonprofit initiative that uses baking as a tool for mindfulness, skill development, and empowerment for women facing social and economic challenges. Through her work, she combines her passion for baking with her commitment to supporting women in creating community and pathways to greater independence.

  • Sijé Vargas (she/her)

    DIGITAL COMMUNICATION SPECIALIST

    Sijé Vargas, a Chicana journalist born between the borders of Mexico and the United States. She grew up among walls, in spaces divided by different forms of violence, yet learned that life can still bloom in the most unexpected places.

    This understanding, along with her experiences across countries, cultures and ideas, shaped her deep commitment to decolonial and antiracist resistance.

    With a background in literature and a Master’s degree earned after migrating to Germany, Sijé has built her life and work in Berlin.

    She is the founder and an active member of NiUnxMenosRed, a collective supporting the migrant community in Germany.

    As a journalist and communicator, Sijé understands communication as an essential tool for empowerment and social transformation. She has contributed to diverse projects focused on resistance, community building and critical information-sharing, mobilizing communities, coordinating initiatives and turning online and offline platforms into spaces of learning, connection and action.

    When she is not on the streets or organizing, Sijé is cooking, baking and spending time with her cat Olivia and her friends.

  • Adele Alsaed (she/her)

    CHAIR OF THE BOARD

    Adele is passionate about promoting FLINTA* rights, human rights, and social equity. As a board member of Hildashaus, she brings her feminist and intersectional perspective to guide the organization’s mission and strategy.

    Driven to create long-term, positive change for FLINTA*, refugees, and individuals seeking asylum in Berlin, Adele is dedicated to developing innovative solutions and supporting inclusive initiatives. She has actively contributed to projects benefiting FLINTA*, refugee communities, and LGBTQ+ individuals, including initiating the original Khalat project and helping Hildashaus achieve its successes.

    As a board member, she aims to amplify her impact, ensuring Hildashaus continues to foster empowerment, community, and equity both locally and beyond.

    Beyond her advocacy work, Adele is also an amazing photographer, capturing moments of creativity, community, and everyday life with a unique eye.

  • Julia Schembri (she/her)

    VICE CHAIR OF THE BOARD

    Julia is a positive, humorous person with a background in HR and coaching, holding a degree in work and organizational psychology.

    She started her career in Luxembourg’s corporate world but discovered her true passion in Berlin, where she has worked across various HR roles in start-ups since 2015. Over the years, she has gained experience in scaling companies and building teams, particularly in HR Operations.

    Julia wholeheartedly believes in Hildashaus' vision and mission, having supported the organization since its founding and becoming a Board Member in late 2024.

    With a strong commitment to intersectional feminism and social justice, Julia is dedicated to creating inclusive environments where everyone can thrive, both personally and professionally.

    In her free time, she loves experimenting with new cake and cookie recipes, which her friends, family, and colleagues at Hildashaus are always happy to try.
