FLINTA* is a German abbreviation for women, lesbians, intersex, nonbinary, trans and agender people. It names a collective of people who are directly affected by discrimination and oppression rooted in patriarchal structures. The term centers diversity, lived experience, and shared resistance, bringing together people who actively challenge patriarchy in different ways, from different positions, and with different bodies and identities.

Not all women menstruate and not all people who menstruate are women. We need to be able to separate menstruation from being something feminine, something only attributed to women.
